Improved quality, enhanced shelf life and preservation of fresh characteristics are important trends in food processing.
Novel mild processing methods, like high pressure, pulsed electric field processing, cold plasma and advanced heating can improve these aspects of food products.
Better understanding of the effects of these processes and successful applications are available now as final results of the European project NovelQ.
Developments in industry and research in the field of biobased materials, and biobased plastics in particular, are forging ahead.
"So it is hardly surprising that biobased plastics is the first subject to find its way onto the curriculum", says Ben van den Broek, researcher at Food & Biobased Research. He is working on the biobased impulse in the present Higher Professional Education sector as part of the Biobased Performance Materials programme.
Food & Biobased News is our digital newsletter that's offering you a glimpse of a number of current developments in our work. We are proud to present the latest research, background stories of interesting topics, a customer story, and to show you what we have accomplished.
